Hello. I am Amanda. This is me ~

I am a 20-year-old junior at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, a.k.a. Virginia Tech. I am studying Food Science & Technology with minors in Spanish and Chemistry (and apparently Mathematics was added, unbeknownst to me, one week ago... haha). I hope to be a Flavor Chemist someday -- and to answer your question about what that is -- you know how Burger King advertises their "charbroiled" burgers? That charbroiled flavor you taste is just a mix of chemicals and churned up with the meat; those hamburgers aren't actually charbroiled... and this is just the tip of the iceberg; I can't wait to share other dirty food industry secrets with you all ;)

I love painting, playing tennis/volleyball, reading, Pinterest-ing, baking, watching The Office, and traveling... especially traveling. More specifically, experiencing new adventures. This spring 2013, I will be studying in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I am crazy excited and feel free to follow along as I try out new stuff and hopefully experience great things!
